Job Summary
Are you ready to be at the forefront of innovation by contributing to the planning, design, and execution of cutting-edge application and platform solutions for security and service delivery? As an Associate DevOps Engineer at Spectrum, you will help shape corporate operational playbooks and standard operating procedures, while developing and implementing platform enhancements. Under the guidance of Senior DevOps engineers, you will complete the implementation of approved applications, infrastructure support architecture, and security solutions.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Work with developers, testers, and deployment teams to execute software deployment plans
Write and update basic to moderately complex automated scripts for installation of server software products
Configure moderately complex hardware and Virtual Machines
Deploy code in Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment under the guidance of technical team members
Work with senior developers and hardware teams to update infrastructure and OS for applications
Perform lab installations and upgrades of server software products to ensure quality deployments
Install and upgrading third party software
Monitor systems performance, and reliability as well as the daily data processing
Participate in project-related stand-up meetings
Review and provide feedback and recommendations for all external facing user documentation, including on-line help

Required Qualifications
Education
BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience
Experience
1+ years business/systems analysis, and/or business experience
1+ years database management systems experience
1+ years coding, testing and design experience
1+ years software development methodology experience
Skills
Familiar with technology (inputs, outputs, and processing flows), and able to clearly communicate that knowledge
Understanding of software design patterns and principles
Demonstrated in-depth understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC)
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Able to deal with ambiguity, uncertainty, and incomplete information when evaluating alternatives and making recommendations
Ability to identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system
Ability to work seamlessly within a team as well as manage individual tasks
Ability to write clear technical documentation for use by developers and testers
Preferred Qualifications
Education
Industry certifications are helpful (RHCSA, RHCE, Network+, Security+, Linux+/LPIC-1, LPIC-2, CKA, CKS, CKAD, etc.)
Experience
Experience working with and supporting internal and external software engineers and application developers
Skills
Experience working with agile teams utilizing scrum and/or kanban
Knowledge of design software, such as Visio
Knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations
Understanding of virtual networks and virtual network overlays
In-depth knowledge of Server Operating Systems specifically Linux/Unix (RHEL, Rocky, Ubuntu)
In-depth knowledge of physical, virtual, and cloud-based system architectures (VMware, KVM, Kubernetes, Docker), server to server communications, and client server communications
Basic knowledge of TCP/IP (IPv4, IPv6), DNS (IPv4, IPv6), OSI Model, load balancing and web proxies (HAproxy, NGINX, etc.)
Working knowledge of the SQL query language and the ability to create, execute, troubleshoot, tune SQL queries and updates, Relational and Non-Relational (NoSQL) data structures, database backup, restoration, and replication methods
Ability to learn to automate and troubleshoot system-wide changes and updates on large scale using native scripting languages (Python, Perl, BASH) and automation tools (Ansible, Chef)
Working knowledge of software versioning (Git, SVN), serialization formats (JSON, YAML, XML), distributed computing concepts and methods, large-scale server and service monitoring solutions (Zabbix, Observium, Splunk, SNMP)

The base pay for this position generally is between $67,100.00 and $107,300.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
