We are seeking a Network Engineer II to join our specialized team that focuses on securing colocation (Colo) infrastructure—rack space, power, and fiber connectivity—to support network equipment deployments. While titled as a Network Engineer, this position is primarily a technical project management and vendor liaison role, not a hands-on network configuration or NOC support position.
This engineer will manage the full lifecycle of Colo infrastructure delivery, translating design team requirements into service orders, coordinating with vendors, tracking schedules, and ensuring project delivery within budget and timeline.
WHAT OUR NETWORK ENGINEER II ENJOY THE MOST
Manage the procurement and delivery of Colo space, power, and fiber infrastructure in support of network deployments.
Translate network design packages into actionable vendor requests and service orders.
Liaise with Colo vendors and third-party fiber providers for infrastructure provisioning and cross-connects.
Oversee contract renewals, service agreements, internal executive approvals, and spending requests.
Provide clear and accurate weekly updates on project status, budget, and risks.
Facilitate physical site access, fiber panel port management, and coordinate vendor and field activities.
Ensure compliance with internal processes, documentation standards, and contract terms.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM Required Qualifications
Experience:
Three (3+) years of data networking experience, preferably in telecom datacenter/colocation environments.
One (1+) year of experience in colocation infrastructure management, telecom project delivery, or a similar field.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, network engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of space, power, and fiber infrastructure in data center environments.
Skills and Abilities:
Excel and full Microsoft Office Suite proficiency for documentation, tracking, and reporting.
Excellent communication skills for internal and external coordination.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Working Conditions
In-office presence required.
Preferred Qualifications
PMP certification or equivalent project management experience.
Experience with Jira or similar workflow/project tracking tools. CCNA, MEF, or optical networking certifications.
Familiarity with diagramming tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart).
Experience navigating corporate approval and procurement processes.

Important Note:
This is not a hands-on router/switch configuration or NOC role. The focus is on Colo infrastructure project delivery and vendor management.
