Principal Developer I - Spectrum Reach
Spectrums Data Services department work on a series of platforms spanning the company to achieve various business goals. Spectrum Payment Services (SPS) reduces the maintenance of Data Security Standards, with the goal to no longer input, transmit, process or store raw credit card information for Residential and SMB customers. Location Lifetime Management (LLM) standardizes address search and geocoding of a location throughout the Charter footprint and systems. And the Charter Abuse Tracking System (CATS) supports Subpoena and Emergency Requests from various Law Offices, Law Firms, FBI, Law Enforcements, and similar groups.
BE PART OF THE CONNECTION
As a Principal Developer on the Data Services team, you’ll be responsible for providing strategic consultation for development, integration testing, domain architecture, and high level project roadmaps to implement solutions for a variety of IT projects. You will also be responsible for hands on design, development, and implementation of information technology systems using specific language based technologies within the designated framework. As well as consulting with project owners to resolve issues regarding operations, implementations, and system status.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
- Experience:
- 8+ years of IT Work experience designing/configuring systems/applications working in development (restful service development, micro services, Springboot).
- 6+ years of IT Work experience working with Relational Databases (SQL based).
- Education:
- BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Technical skills:
- Advanced knowledge of OOP (object oriented programming) & prototypal inheritance
- Advanced working knowledge and experience with Spring framework (Spring Boot).
- Advanced knowledge of language based programming (i.e. Java 8 currently used).
- Advanced knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and writing shell scripts.
- Advanced knowledge of web services development both Restful and SOAP.
- Advanced knowledge of Tomcat server.
- Advanced knowledge of Unit Testing frameworks and continuous integration tools.
- Advanced knowledge of Maven.
- Advanced knowledge of Micro-services architecture desirable.
- Advanced knowledge of Git version control system.
- Advanced knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology.
- Advanced knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model.
- Advanced knowledge of network devices and basic network appliances.
- Advanced knowledge of network designing software, such as Visio.
- Knowledge of at least two application server platforms (WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat, JBOSS, etc.).
- Knowledge of at least three development languages ((Java 8, JavaScript, C/C++, ObjectiveC, Perl, Python, ASP/.Net, Go, React, Angular, Hadoop, SQL,).
- Knowledge of at least three development or test automation tools (ANT, Maven, Hudson/Jenkins, JUnit, JMeter, etc.).
- Knowledge of at least three development frameworks (Struts, Spring MVC, Spring Security, JQuery, AXIS 2.0, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of infrastructure technologies and concepts.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with all levels of business users in a professional manner.
- Abilities:
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quickly.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to demonstrate lateral thinking required to solve complex technical problems to provide outside the box solutions.
- Ability to perform duties in a dynamic technological environment and ability to learn new technology quickly.
