TITLE: BI Application Developer IV (Multiple Openings)

DUTIES: Design, develop, and support new and existing Business Intelligence (BI) solutions for business partners. Develop reporting solutions to help business verticals run their organization and maximize utility of Charter’s data assets. Transform business requirements into BI solutions through the construction of MicroStrategy architecture, reports, and dashboards. Educate end users on the developed products’ functionality and document those products for future reference. Coach and mentor junior developers on the team. Transform data into visually appealing dashboards that are easily consumed. Extend reporting architecture as new areas of functionality are introduced to the warehouse. Tune dossiers, documents, and cubes for quick access to information through efficient SQL generation or caching strategy. Write SQL scripts against the Teradata warehouse to analyze, discover, and test reports. Execute proper development practices through a standard BI software development lifecycle. Work with a dimensional data warehouse model and optimize the way data is organized for consumption in MicroStrategy. Support and document reports in a way that maximizes end user efficiency. Iterate and prototype key business initiatives to arrive at a finished product that aligns with end user expectations. Work with MicroStrategy’s mobile dashboarding solutions for iPad and Android. Serve as an expert in MicroStrategy architecture and how the tool interacts with the data warehouse model. Develop reports, dossiers, and mobile dashboards in MicroStrategy. Design databases and collect data to support reporting including Teradata or AWS Redshift; and SQL queries and stored procedures in Teradata or AWS Redshift. Test reporting solutions and validating characteristics of data utilizing SQL.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or a related field. 10 years of experience: developing reporting products in MicroStrategy, including a combination of reports, dossiers, and mobile dashboards; designing databases and collecting data to support reporting in large data warehouse platforms including Teradata or AWS Redshift; designing SQL queries and stored procedures in large data warehouse platforms including Teradata or AWS Redshift; and testing reporting solutions and validating characteristics of data utilizing SQL. The employer will also accept individuals with a Master’s degree (in the fields listed above) and 7 years of experience in the above-mentioned skills. Hybrid arrangement is available.

SALARY: $154,669 - $159,400 per year

HOURS: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (40+ hours/week)
