Do you have the skills to identify and plan for security risks while liaising with federal, state, and local law enforcement? If you have military or local law enforcement experience and have worked in retail or supply chain loss prevention, the Director, Corporate Physical Security role could be right for you.  
This role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing strategic and tactical planning for the region. In addition, the Director will be responsible for developing a proactive, predictive risk environment, identifying significant security risks, and developing progressive mitigation strategies. You will need to engage at the highest levels of federal, state and local law enforcement and should have extensive contacts within local law enforcement as well as private sector security organizations. 


How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Direct planning for security operations and activities throughout the Region, including physical security, incident management, executive protection, threat assessments/mitigation, cybersecurity risk identification/support, and awareness programs 
  • Develop strategic relationships and acts as liaison between Charter Communications and law enforcement agencies, emergency management agencies and leadership at Federal, state and local levels 
  • Act as a leader in all workplace violence responses, with a specific focus on awareness, education and training for the workforce 
  • Directly accountable for meeting financial and operating objectives of security projects and operations within the Region 
  • Cultivate skilled security leaders within the Region by assigning responsibility, managing accountability and providing opportunities for growth 
  • Oversee investigations 
  • Provide support and oversight to training, liaison and business partner relationships 
  • Ensure reports, employee development, physical security projects and technology matters are managed 
  • Oversee Loss Prevention Program, including metrics and strategy for loss prevention 
  • Manage two loss prevention specialists 

What You’ll Bring to Spectrum 

Required Qualifications 

  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in area relevant to the security field preferred 
  • Experience
    • 12+ years military or local law enforcement experience along with corporate security environments 
    • Experience in retail or supply chain loss prevention  
    • Experience and/or training in interview/interrogation techniques 
  • Skills
    • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English and use mathematic skills accurately to complete daily paperwork 
    • Effective security analytics and intelligence-led decision making skills 
    • Practical understanding of security risk management processes and techniques related to physical security  
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications
    • Understanding of the complexities of software and networking; how the systems work together  
    • Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks simultaneously to completion with accuracy and attention to detail  
    • Comprehensive understanding of incident reporting and case management 
    • Knowledge and experience with evidence handling and case building for prosecution 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Certification in related security fields (CPP, PCI, PSP, CFE, CFI) 
  • Physical Security Operations Center Experience
