As the ESC Leave of Absence Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in guiding leave programs, resolving complex cases, and partnering with leadership to refine processes and protocols. Your expertise will shape compliance, improve program effectiveness, and support employees at key moments, making a lasting impact across the company.


How You’ll Make an Impact  

  • Administer leave programs and policies according to federal and state employment laws
  • Oversee all aspects of leave programs and vendors, managing cases and claims administration
  • Collaborate with HR, medical professionals, legal counsel, and workers’ compensation adjusters to support return-to-work and accommodations
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for leave programs, consulting and guiding business units and HR leadership
  • Make recommendations and support the ADA interactive process for individual accommodation requests
  • Liaise between business stakeholders, employees, and third-party administration vendors to enhance program outcomes
  • Develop metrics, audit, and evaluate LOA program performance, proactively identifying improvement opportunities

What You’ll Bring to Spectrum   

Required Qualifications   

Education  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience

Experience   

  • 3+ years of LOA and/or ADA experience in a large complex organization

Skills   

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold high professional standards
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to manage time-sensitive issues with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills for compiling and interpreting data
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to provide quality service to internal and external customers
  • Knowledge of leave administration, including FMLA and ADA
  • Knowledge of employment laws related to leave of absence
  • Knowledge of FMLA, ADAAA, benefit administration, corporate HR, and enterprise business
  • Ability to make independent decisions in daily operations
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with employees at all levels
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including extended hours, weekends, and holidays
