Are you driven by the satisfaction of ensuring your colleagues are paid accurately and on time? As a Payroll Specialist at Spectrum, you will administer payroll, address employee inquiries, and contribute to system enhancements. Your expertise supports seamless payroll operations and guarantees every team member receives reliable compensation, creating a positive impact across the organization.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Administer and process payroll for assigned business units on a bi-weekly schedule
  • Maintain detailed processing task lists and documentation following department standards
  • Provide payroll support to employees, resolving questions and concerns by phone or email
  • Support department help desk operations and assist team members when needed, including scanning and routing payroll documentation
  • Participate in system testing and training for software upgrades, implementations, and integrations, while monitoring daily duties for efficiency
  • Process benefit deduction adjustments, distribute related emails to the processing team, and review biweekly payroll adjustments
  • Distribute Short Term Disability items, including check requests and Kronos files, and manage stop payment and reissue requests
  • Accurately input and review garnishment documents and withholding orders, respond to court and agency requests, and maintain garnishment documentation
  • Complete wage verification documents and report returned or incorrect garnishment checks to the manager, process garnishment refunds, and collaborate with the GL group on discrepancies
  • Ensure accuracy of garnishment data by thoroughly reviewing system-generated reports

  • Flexibility to work beyond a standard Monday to Friday schedule as needed, with occasional weekend work required

What You’ll Bring to Spectrum

Required Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma required

Experience

  • 2+ years of multi-state payroll processing experience

Skills

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Demonstrated data entry experience
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

Education

  • Some college-level business courses desired
  • FPC required either at hire or within 18 months
  • CPP desired

Skills

  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft HRMS version 8.5 or higher preferred
  • Knowledge of Kronos timekeeping system preferred
  • Garnishment administration knowledge desired
