The Pre-Employment Analyst will lead the decision-making process for Spectrum enterprise-wide criminal background checks. This role involves determining candidate eligibility in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as Spectrum's background check policies. You'll interpret data from our third-party provider and apply it against Spectrum's guidelines to ensure accurate hiring decisions. 


How You’ll Make an Impact   

  • Provide Tier 2 pre-employment escalation support  
  • Investigate discrepancies and resolve pending matters with applicants, employees, and courts  
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, staying updated on changes  
  • Collaborate with hiring managers, HR, corporate security, legal, risk departments, and vendors to ensure compliance  
  • Review policies, procedures, controls, and performance for compliance, making necessary changes  
  • Liaise with the corporate audit division and external agencies to resolve issues. 
  • Conduct compliance performance reporting, analyze reports, identify issues, and recommend changes  
  • Ensure vendors meet service level agreements and key performance indicators, and complete pre-employment screenings on time 

What You’ll Bring to Spectrum  

Required Qualifications 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field or equivalent previous work experience with prior customer service experience, or equivalent previous work experience 

Experience

  • 3+ years of proven HR experience or Customer Service Call Center experience 

Skills

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English 
  • Ability to understand dispositions practices, identify risks, effectively interview applicants/employees for information, objectively evaluate the facts and apply to employment compliance standards 
  • Ability to problem-solve in a high-volume production-oriented environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel and Word 
  • High level of analytical, process and problem resolution skills 
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality 
  • Ability to read and interpret technical and legal information, recognize significant issues and formulate recommendations 
  • Proven customer service orientation and be extremely responsive to avoid hindering the onboarding process 
  • High degree of attention to detail, logical thinking, and organizational skills Exceptional follow-up on outstanding or pending matters 
  • Demonstrated analytical and investigative skills and strong written and oral communication skills 
  • Ability to work and make decisions independently 
  • Ability to effectively interact and partner with various levels of the organization
  • Experience of developing and implementing solutions to issues 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of types of criminal convictions, court dispositions, as well as background check requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory issues and compliance programs pertinent to assigned area
  • Experience working with multi-state shared services organization
