SUMMARY

The Senior Manager Product Management leads the full life cycle of a product within Spectrum Reach’s Advanced Advertising portfolio which includes planning, development, deployment and overall management -. The role’s primary focus is to provide the product development and activation support for the key initiatives stemming from Spectrum Reach’s Inventory Strategy.  In the immediate and near term, this role identifies and executes on tactics that enhance revenue and profitability for High Profile Opportunities (HPOs), Sports, and Political strategies. Additionally, the role provides support for projects that facilitate Spectrum Reach’s evolution to a converged impression based TV solution. The Sr. Manager will encourage a culture based on teamwork, cross functional collaboration and unbridled intellectual curiosity to evaluate new capabilities, enhance new features and manage a growing product portfolio. Must be comfortable working in a highly matrixed environment. 

The role collaborates closely with key internal functions including: Inventory Strategy Team, Yield & Inventory, Sales Activation, Sales, Operations, Technology and Engineering, Marketing, Product Build, Research, Finance and Spectrum Reach Learning to focus on new & enhanced product offerings, go-to market plans, workflows, product acceptance, KPIs and overall product performance.

Additionally, this role will impact aggressive sales growth objectives and is critical in influencing strategy, partners, plans, resources and technology needs in accomplishing these objectives. The role must work closely with Sales and cross-functional partners to ensure that the product roadmap is fueling and integrating with our Long Range Business Plan.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the internal and external customer experience.
  • Lead product launches and enhancements of products in Spectrum Reach; support and documentation throughout the product life cycle. Always be seeking ways to make products easier to buy, sell and support.
  • Create launch plans including timelines, milestones and key performance indicators in partnership with the Transformation Management Office (TMO).
  • Communicate product value prop & key messaging to stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyze product performance post launch and identify opportunities for product optimization.
  • Advance the understanding of industry best practices in product development process specific to product line(s) and translate appropriate steps for unique organization and market position and successful product activations and adoption.
  • Build business models that take into consideration the trade-offs associated with product development/technology, business and market conditions.
  • Support lifecycle product management efforts including product development initiatives, incremental product enhancements, unification/integration with enterprise systems as well as product maintenance and analysis projects.
  • Develop and maintain a Product Roadmap – balancing delivery and execution with flexibility to pivot in response to customer or market needs. Ensure Product Roadmap aligns with both Long Range Plan (LRP) and annual critical contributions.  Prioritize requirements for development across internal and/or external development teams.
  • Translate sales needs into strategic and compelling business opportunities that define clear business requirements and build consensus on priorities leading to product execution.
  • Inform senior management on key opportunities, potential risks, and potential partnerships for product development and enhancements while building an overall narrative amplifying the success, growth and impact of assigned product lines.
  • Ensure communication with all stakeholders is being managed effectively.
  • Build and manage collaborative and mutually beneficial working relationships with the cross-functional teams including Inventory Strategy, Yield & Inventory, Activation, Product Development Build teams, Sales Strategy, Sales, Operations, TMO, Product Marketing, and external vendors needed to drive efficient development and product management efforts.
  • Maintain an eye toward the bigger picture strategic contributions of assigned product lines - how they drive the overall business/SR's competitive advantage. Leverage data, industry insights and customer feedback to continuously improve products.
  • Ability to balance strategic goals with tactical execution.
  • Ability to embrace and influence excellence at the center of product vision.
  • May include direct People Management. At a minimum, serve as a role model/mentor for Product Managers, Analysts, interns and other members of the team.
  • Must be able to motivate, lead, influence and manage indirect teams, working collaboratively to drive programs that meet our clients’ business objectives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • TV, Cable, Internet, and/or telecom industry experience required
  • Advertising acumen in Advanced Products, Traditional TV, streaming ecosystem and Attribution landscape.
  • Ability to incorporate internal and external client feedback into a well formulated product offering
  • Able to facilitate tightly run cross-functional meetings that drive towards results while listening to all Knowledge of the advanced advertising eco-system
  • Product Management and/or Strategy experience required
  • Proven history of managing multiple product efforts and significant experience leading product roadmaps, prioritizing and identifying opportunities for backlog, collaborating with development teams for ongoing enhancements
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and determine areas requiring further investigation
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel as well as in public forums
  • Capacity to work independently and own responsibilities for projects immediately
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize effectively
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
  • Ability to show judgment and initiative and to accomplish job duties

EDUCATION

MBA or Master’s degree a plus, but not required

RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

  • TV Advertising or Advanced Advertising Product management                
  • Media and/or Telecom industry experience
