Job Summary

Do you have what it takes to plan, forecast, implement, and identify resource requirements for highly complex network systems? As a Network Engineer IV at Spectrum, you will lead in the planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems of high complexity. Design, develop, and implement network enhancements and make recommendations for improvements. Lead implementation of approved network architecture and designs. Leader in staff development efforts.

What You’ll Bring to Spectrum

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience

Experience

  • 6+ years of work experience

Skills

  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language
  • Data networking knowledge (OSI Model, TCP/IP, Optical Transport
  • Extensive knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber (Multimode, Single mode, UTP, etc.), Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies and protocols
  • Extensive knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology
  • Extensive knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model, using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations, basic network devices and basic network appliances, and network designing software, such as Visio
  • Ability to perform duties in a very fast-paced team environment, and learn new technology quickly
  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications, Microsoft Office, telephone, copier, fax, and calculator

Preferred Qualifications

Experience

  • Cisco (NX-OS, IOS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR)
  • Juniper OS (PTX, EX, SRX)
  • Arista
  • F5 (I and R Series) Load Balancers
  • A10
  • Using Linux tools to test and validate network traffic, such as NetCat, dig, traceroute, ping

Education

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • Juniper Network Certified Specialist (JNCIS or JNCIP)
  • Industry and vendor-specific certifications and training (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc.)

The base pay for this position generally is between $88,200.00 and $156,600.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
