This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

As Director of Construction, you will be responsible for solving OSP construction issues at scale, writing standards, fleshing out how to best adjust policy/procedure to account for human behavior to achieve the desired outcome for the company then document the instruction.  You will work as part of a fast-paced team to determine operational requirements for tools and software development to be used for OSP construction.   You will advise, teach, and direct all aspects of OSP construction.  You will deep dive into the usage of construction materials for the company.


Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

Recruits, coaches and develops the construction team.

Determines strategy, planning and execution of projects and initiatives within the construction functional area.

Manages day-to-day construction operations supporting residential, commercial and multi-family categories.

Achieves excellent relationships with internal customers including Engineering, Technical Operations, Sales, Marketing, Government Affairs and Customer Care.

Develops and maintains excellent relationships with franchise authorities, utilities and developer/builders relative to all aspects of the construction process.

Formulates and controls capital and operating budgets and provides analysis of financial performance in both areas of the P&L.

Negotiates and administers contracts with construction vendors and utilities.

Manages continuous improvement cycle and acts as a change agent as opportunities to improve departmental performance are identified.

Ensures that all applicable codes, standards, and proper construction practices are followed.

Develops assignments, timetables and responsibilities for team members for the duration of the project.


Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

Understanding of HFC Network design and operating principles including coax, fiber, and RF in both forward and return path

Technical knowledge of CATV plant and fiber optic construction, including drafting procedures, layout and design, permitting and make-ready requirements, aerial and underground construction practices, internal wiring specifications as well as an understanding of building materials and structures

Knowledge of aerial and underground construction specifications and practices

Knowledge of MDU/Apartment prewire and post-wire construction specifications and practices

Ability to handle various tasks simultaneously, organize and schedule work, prioritize commitments, make decisions and work effectively under project deadlines

Extensive knowledge of OSHA, NESC, FCC and Industry Standard rules, regulations, and specifications

Advanced budgeting and financial management skills and experience

Strong business planning and forecasting skills

Strong analytic, organizational, and problem solving skills

Strong team and relationship building skills

Proven leadership and mentoring skills

Ability to analyze data and develop and present data driven reports

Proficient in the use of PCs, including database management, E-mail, and spreadsheets

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years

Construction experience - 8-10

Management experience - 5+

Experience with all types of telecommunications construction practices and techniques, including material management

Preferred Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Project management experience

Supply Chain management experience

The ability to work with and influence others through meetings, written, and verbal communications       to develop the best course of action for new or existing process based on past performance, feedback, and experiences.  

Ability to quickly read and digest complex reports

Ability to manipulate large volumes of data with excel

Preferred Related Work Experience and Number of Years

2+ years hand-on underground and aerial / fiber and coax production

Working Conditions

Office environment with up to 20% travel

Must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record

The base pay for this position generally is between $110,660.00 and $196,460.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
