The base pay for this position generally is between $138,930.00 and $246,290.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.

Are you a strategic leader who thrives in a fast-paced engineering environment? As Director of Engineering at Spectrum, you will oversee a dynamic team, driving consistent engineering practices and stable product delivery in alignment with company goals. Your expertise will ensure seamless technical operations, robust cross-functional collaboration, and effective support for product deployment. Your leadership will directly shape the quality and reliability of Spectrum’s solutions.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Develop an effective front line leadership team and assist them with developing their direct reports as to drive a high-performance culture and environment
- Lead an innovative, collaborative work team to produce exceptional results delivering the customer experience
- Oversee designated operations which may include, but not limited to Headend, network engineering, advanced video engineering, construction projects, and related equipment requirements
- Provide engineering support and direction for new or existing technologies and current operational initiatives
- Evaluate and consult with all levels of leadership regarding technical operations, strategic planning of rebuilds, network operations, dispatch, and new product development and deployment
- Direct quality control programs for engineering operations and consistent operational procedures
- Review selections on bids for contracted projects, and provide recommendations as necessary
- Direct capital budget process, executes approved budget plan
- Ensure current procedures and tests are performed in accordance with Federal Communication Commission Standards
- Oversee the maintenance of records as required by the Federal Communications Commission and other government agencies
- Ensure adherence to company TQA policies
- Lead and participate in succession planning

- Exposure to moderate noise levels
- Travel as required
What You’ll Bring to Spectrum
Required Qualifications
Education
- Master's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
Experience
- 10+ years engineering experience and/or network operations
- 7+ years management experience
- 2+ years project management experience
Skills
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Advanced knowledge of HFC, Advanced Video, IP Networks, and Telephony
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
- Ability to supervise and motivate others
- Ability to use personal computer and software applications
- Advanced knowledge of all FCC compliance reports and other rules and regulations
- Comprehensive understanding of applicable local and state rules and regulations; comprehensive understanding of OSHA rules and regulations, both federal and state
- Comprehensive understanding of HVAC and power distribution systems, Analog Transmission Line Theory, and Electronic Theory
- In-depth knowledge of Federal Communications Commission regulations, Fiber Optic theory, National Electric Code, and National Electric Safety Code

Education
- Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (VMWare, Nutanix, OpenStack, Kubernetes, Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc.)
- Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (NCTI, SCTE, BCT/E)
