As Manager, Systems Engineering at Spectrum, you will lead a dedicated systems team, ensuring seamless system integrity and overseeing critical functions from service maintenance to product deployment. This Manager, Systems Engineering will be responsible for Architecting, designing, and enhancing enterprise applications built on BMC Remedy/Remedy Helix, including ITSM modules, workflows, forms, integrations, and automation by providing hands‑on development using BMC Remedy/Helix, Python, Oracle (PL/SQL), and Java to build customizations, backend services, APIs, and data integrations.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Direct technical operations to uphold system integrity and deliver consistent voice, video and data services to Spectrum customers
Guide field teams and regional offices in implementing new technologies, operational standards and staff development programs
Coordinate and monitor capital and operating budgets, negotiating with contractors and vendors to achieve cost-effective solutions
Oversee compliance with FCC standards by monitoring procedures and tests, ensuring regulatory requirements are met
Manage system material processes including inventory control, safety training and security to align with Spectrum’s standard operating procedures
Maintain records for system, regional and corporate offices as well as government agencies
Support business plan development, assist with capital projects and deploy new products to strengthen service delivery

What You’ll Bring to Spectrum
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering or related field or equivalent experience
NCTI Advanced Technical Certification or equivalent
Experience
6+ years of system engineering experience
Skills
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the pinning systems concepts and the system/super-system skills including the business and technological environment
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the systems lifecycle from need identification, requirements through to operation and ultimately disposal
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of choosing the appropriate lifecycle and the planning, monitoring and control of the systems engineering process
Effective ability to transform an operational need into a description of system parameters and incorporate those parameters in the control of the total system development to achieve an optimum, cost-effective balance of all system elements
Preferred Qualifications
Experience
2+ years of management or leadership experience
6+ years leading engineering teams or mentoring developers.
Skills
Strong hands‑on experience with BMC Remedy/Remedy Helix, including AR System, ITSM modules, workflows, and integrations.
Experience in Python, Oracle (SQL/PL‑SQL), and Java for backend development and automation.
Experience with the Charter RC-Ticketing development tool set including: Jira, GIT, Oracle Sql Developer, BMC Developer Studio, Splunk, DataDog, Oracle Enterprise Manager)
Experience with Charter Network Engineering Operations outage and change management systems
Experience with Charter Outage Management/Service Reliability customer experience management systems

The base pay for this position generally is between $98,900.00 and $175,300.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
