Our Technology Operations groups engineer and manage an advanced infrastructure that offers a full range of state-of-the-art residential and business services including Spectrum Internet®, TV, Mobile, and Voice. Through sophisticated innovations and service reliability, we ensure our customers never miss a second of what matters most.


BE PART OF THE CONNECTION

The Systems Engineer IV will lead in the planning, design, development, implementation, and execution of innovative application and platform solutions related to security, service delivery, data center and service desk management, OSS, and BSS systems. Drive identification and adoption of best in class operational practices and procedures across a multidimensional, high complexity back office space for business as usual tasks, deployment, incident management, monitoring and detection, capacity planning, forecasting, resiliency, hardening, and DR/HA. Design and establish corporate operational playbooks, standard operating procedures, develops and implements platform enhancements and makes recommendations for improvements. The Systems Engineer IV will also lead implementation of approved application and data center architecture and designs and security solutions. You will be the leader in staff development efforts.

WHAT OUR SYSTEMS ENGINEERS ENJOY THE MOST

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Design, deploy, manage, and ensure stability of the application and platform ecosystem and related back office infrastructure and data centers to provide network security, high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability to effectively and efficiently support mission critical business systems.
  • Demonstrate a high level of competence in IT operations, application monitoring, deployment and configuration management, availability and performance optimization, capacity management and forecasting, cloud computing, datacenter operations troubleshooting critical issues, and coordination of implementation.
  • Represent the Engineering Department working closely with
  • Architects and Engineers in designing, modeling, and implementing new technologies.
  • Become a trusted partner of engineering team through the delivery of excellent customer service and knowledge that will allow our business to grow.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve major APO and system issues.
  • Assist and lead efforts for design, redesign, and operational efficiencies as business objective and strategies evolve.
  • Document project requirements including scope, costs, schedule, testing and terms of delivery to ensure project is completed with highest level of quality on time and within budget.
  • Mentor and train other Engineering personnel in key elements of networking systems and provide technical presentations to instruct co-workers and other production services support individuals.
  • Research and identify technology opportunities and application to the business.
  • Test and validate all new hardware and software for proper configuration and performance.
  • Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable. Knows, understands and follows company policy.
  • Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Six (6+) years System or Server Administration.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience; May require Industry Standard Certifications.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Ability to use personal computer and software applications.
    • Systems knowledge (Linux, Unix).
    • Infrastructure knowledge (Raw Iron, Steel Cloud, ElasticCloud, OpenStack, AWS).
    • In-depth knowledge in areas of specialty for specific applications, and general knowledge of supporting or integrating applications creating platform ecosystems.
    • Basic Knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model.
    • Expert knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations.
    • Expert knowledge of software designing software, such as Visio.
    • General knowledge of OSI stack and application architectures.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
    • Ability to work in a team environment.
    • Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quickly.
    • Ability to use the following office equipment telephone, copier, fax, and calculator.
    • Ability to use personal computer and software applications.
  • Work Environment:
    • Office Environment.
    • May work in Lab or Data Center/Implementation Facility environment.
    • 24X7 Network Operations environment.
  • Travel Requirements:
    • Occasional travel as required.

  • Oracle.
  • Splunk.
  • Linux, Unix, or other system administration certification are helpful.

The base pay for this position generally is between $88,200.00 and $156,600.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
