The Spectrum TECH Program offers a unique path for high-potential talent to explore multiple roles in technology, receive guidance from experienced mentors, and interact directly with senior leaders. As a valued member of our team, you will rotate through several departments, gain practical skills, and help shape the future of the TECH program through your insights and contributions. This role is a partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Madison for students who will be graduating in December 2025 or May 2026 with a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems or Engineering.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Gain hands-on experience with systems and processes throughout the software development life cycle, including exposure to full stack development, quality assurance, and cybersecurity
Develop insight into multiple departments by understanding unique technology requirements and performing responsibilities alongside teams during each rotation
Take ownership of assigned responsibilities in each rotation, collaborating with team members and providing feedback to enhance project outcomes; support employees in each vertical with current initiatives and upcoming projects
Design, implement, and deliver software products by writing production-ready code and participating in peer reviews; create and execute manual and automated test cases, track product testing metrics, and troubleshoot or enhance automation scripts as needed
Analyze business and client requirements, participate in project meetings, and collaborate at various intervals throughout the project lifecycle; work on application enhancements for external customers, participate in proof-of-concept sessions, and troubleshoot issues with teams
Partner with security teams to address vulnerabilities, collaborate with specialized teams, and help resolve enterprise-wide issues; monitor deployed systems and applications, troubleshoot production issues, and participate in triage exercises to maintain operational excellence
Perform data analysis and develop solutions to support team operations during each rotation; partner with Software Development & Information Technology teams to identify areas for process improvement and foster strong relationships
Collaborate with management and employees to learn organizational structures and business partnerships within each rotation; mentor fellow trainees by sharing insights and knowledge gained from previous rotations

What You'll Bring to Spectrum
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or Engineering required, or combination of required work experience and education
Experience
Information Technology experience gained through work experience or practicum training
Skills
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Basic knowledge and ability to code, test, manipulate data, and develop solutions for applications/software; code in Java or a similar object-oriented programming/scripting language; code in Javascript or a similar scripting programming language
Basic Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle, elements within rotational program, and project management skills and process mindset
Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and effective ability to present, communicate, and influence others of varying skills and abilities
Basic ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment to effectively meet deadlines and projects by using appropriate methodology and tools
Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining result
Effective interpersonal and communication skills to work across functional and organizational lines with uncompromising ethics
Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to independently assess situations and respond accordingly and deal with complexity and manage ambiguity
