TITLE: Principal Engineer I
DUTIES: Design and develop innovative capabilities for applications and systems utilized within Charter’s Field Operations & Engineering team. Prioritize, build, release, and support high-value feature functionality within the new enterprise construction management application, which is utilized for management of cable plant construction operations. Evaluate functional requirements, time constraints, and system limitations when developing and deploying software. Research new and emerging technologies, software and security development best practices, and translate into team’s development work. Integrate front-end applications with back-end services, analyze and refactor existing software logic, and maintain and update pertinent application runbooks. Review application system design, service architecture, and advise on improvements. Guide and train engineers within Charter’s IT Telemetry Development organization. Provide technical support via Apache Tomcat Webserver administration, utilize application performance monitoring tools and techniques, orchestrate application deployments, and perform Oracle Database Server administration. Perform software engineering and object-oriented design including front-end development across Java, Mobile applications, or web technologies. Define and develop strategic technology standards and roadmaps utilizing scaled agile best practices. Review requirements, conflicts/gaps between functional goals, and existing timelines/capabilities for software systems or applications. Perform code development, version control, continuous integration/delivery, and test/build automation including Docker, Github, BitBucket, or GitLab. Implement open-source and non-open-source software including Angular or React, Angular11+, Micro Frontends, RESTful Web services, GraphQL, JSON, HTML5, JavaScript, Git, CI/CD, Playwright, Camunda, Mockito, Apache Maven, or Kubernetes. Utilize Software Composition Analysis (SCA) technology including Jfrog Xray, Veracode-SCA, and OWASP secure coding principles.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 5 years of experience in: software engineering and object-oriented design including front-end development across Java, Mobile applications, or web technologies; defining and developing strategic technology standards and roadmaps utilizing scaled agile best practices; reviewing requirements, conflicts/gaps between functional goals, and existing timelines/capabilities for software systems or applications; implementing open-source and non-open-source software including experience in at least 3 of the following: Angular or React, Angular11+, Micro Frontends, RESTful Web services, GraphQL, JSON, HTML5, JavaScript, Git, CI/CD, Playwright, Camunda, Mockito, Apache Maven, or Kubernetes; utilizing Software Composition Analysis (SCA) technology including at least one of the following: Jfrog Xray, Veracode-SCA, or OWASP secure coding principles; and code development and version control. 3 years of experience in continuous integration/delivery and test/build automation, including experience in at least 2 of the following: Docker, Github, BitBucket, or GitLab. A hybrid (in office and remote work) arrangement is available
SALARY: $161,886 - $196,400 per year
HOURS: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (40+ hours/week)

Salaries depend on geography, experience, and education; negotiations begin at $161,886 per year.
