Communications Specialist - Spectrum Reach

JOB SUMMARY
Role is part of the Thought Leadership and Social Media Strategy team., focusing on strategy and plan development working in close collaboration with the Events and Communication leads. Role reports to the Director of Marketing, Thought Leadership. Responsible for assisting Director with the development of external and internal communication strategies to achieve Company objectives. Works closely across the Brand Marketing & Strategy team and the broader cross-functional Marketing teams to support thought leadership initiatives and cultivates external relations with trade associations, and internal relations with Corporate Communications and other business units.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketplace Visibility + Communications
- Support execution on a proactive plan to drive awareness for Spectrum Reach brand nationally amongst our target audiences of advertising agencies, national brands, as well as small & medium businesses, depending on message.
- Support Director to drive a proactive communications strategy + storytelling to highlight Spectrum Reach’s value and customer benefits/results.
- Identify opportunities to raise Spectrum Reach's credibility with capability, CSR and executive based awards opportunities, as well as other initiatives for added brand exposure.
Industry Associations + Events
- Build perception by industry partners and relevant publications that Spectrum Reach is the go-to place to drive business results, brand growth, and community impact.
- Identify and recommend key Industry associations, organizations, media outlets for executive leadership team to pitch breakthrough news and content.
- Work in partnership with the Events & Experiential Marketing team, to support leadership speaking engagements at an enterprise level; as needed, support external facing events executed by the Field Marketing organization at the regional and local levels.
- Collaborate and support the overall organization on the approvals process, timing and overarching strategy so that Enterprise, Field Marketing and
- Senior executives are aware of company initiatives and approved talking points.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Leadership
- Work collaboratively with teams across the organization to develop strategic communications plans and messaging for brand/ business announcements, product launches, and more.
- Create strong partnerships with Corporate Communication and Field Marketing colleagues to ensure alignment between Enterprise and Regional/Local approaches.
- Support Director with executive leadership team with participation in interviews with media and speaking engagements in various events and conferences.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills /Abilities and Knowledge
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 2-3+ years’ experience in Communications, Public Relations, Event Marketing, Digital Marketing and/or related field.
- Media Industry experience preferred: TV/streaming advertising, advertising agency media, advertising technology.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, specifically for brand proposition marketing messages for all communications, compelling core points for thought leadership, speaking engagement & press pitches, company & executive award submissions.
- Creative and Strategic thinker, experienced with implementing external marketing communication strategies.
- Ability to prioritize and organize effectively and manage multiple projects and assignments.
- Proven ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with peers and project members.
Should have at least one of the following:
- Event/platform management/planning, along with delivering MQLs (marketing qualified leads)
Industry trade media relations - External communications experience
Preferred, but not required:
- Corporate experience preferred: understanding the needs of departments such as corporate communications, legal, government affairs, investor relations.
- B2B marketing experience preferred.

The base pay for this position generally is between $60,480.00 and $96,720.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
