BE PART OF THE CONNECTION
In your role as Executive Producer of News Standards, you will collaborate directly with our news leaders and multimedia journalists across the country to review, edit, and approve the most complicated stories before they air on TV or are published onto digital platforms. You will work with the rest of the Standards team and News Standards Committee to help draft guidance on coverage considerations and language use, as well as revise and update our News Standards Guidelines. You will have the opportunity to work on both big picture initiatives at the core of our mission and breaking news on deadline. You will have the chance to train our newest employees, as well as work with the most senior leaders. Working a Thursday-Monday schedule, you will work collaboratively with the rest of the Standards team, as well as serve as the primary Standards contact on weekends, networkwide.

- Helps support all efforts to maintain and promote rigorous standards of ethical journalism, including fairness, integrity and unbiased coverage.
- Solve the challenges that come with dynamic news coverage.
- Develop solutions for critical coverage.
- Oversee decisions on story structure, video/audio elements, graphics and timing.
- Perform writing and editing functions.
- Follow through on all assignments meeting required deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM NEWS
Required Qualifications
- Experience: News or editing - 5+ years, Management - 2+ years
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or related field, comparable television management work experience
- Technical Skills: Working knowledge of general office computer software, newsroom software and basic non-linear editing systems
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to cultivate relationships, highly organized, analytical thinking, ability to work on deadline and managing multiple priorities
- Travel Ability: Open to travel for newsroom Standards trainings
- Schedule: Thursday to Monday; Ability to work different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes
Preferred Qualifications
- May be required to lift up to five pounds
Working Conditions
- Works primarily inside a climate-controlled environment throughout the year but might be assigned field duties on occasion
- Works in an open newsroom setting with a semi-noisy environment

A qualified applicant’s criminal history, if any, will be considered in a manner consistent with applicable laws, including local ordinances.
The base pay for this position generally is between $86,000.00 and $182,900.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
