The final position title, Director or Senior Director Regional Plant Maintenance, will be determined based on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate. Spectrum is committed to recognizing and rewarding expertise to ensure the best leadership for our team.
Lead the design, construction, and maintenance of Spectrum plant across the region to improve node and network performance. As a Director / Senior Director, Regional Plant Maintenance, you'll oversee preventive maintenance and restoration plans, ensure maintenance teams follow documented design and setup procedures, and drive Node health to greater than 98% as a measurable impact.
Note - this position will be based in Phoenix, AZ with frequent travel throughout Arizona, Southern California and Hawaii.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Coordinate design, construction, and maintenance strategies across the region to meet plant performance goals
Develop and implement fiber restoration plans and preventive plant maintenance plans for each management area and create reporting to track progress and status of goals
Evaluate training needs and ensure Maintenance Technicians complete required training to perform their job responsibilities
Create and maintain an engineering notebook detailing proper setup procedures and design specifications for all plant equipment to be implemented by maintenance teams
Work closely with management area leadership to ensure all plant performance goals are met
Work closely with the Regional Operations Center (ROC) to drive field compliance and meet regularly to review performance criteria and metrics
Support strategic troubleshooting using network tools and national data and develop metrics for plant maintenance and whole house certification
Participate in budgeting and capital forecasting to improve plant readiness

What You’ll Bring to Spectrum
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in engineering, related field or equivalent
Experience
10+ years of engineering or technical experience
10+ years of plant or system maintenance experience
5+ years of project management experience
Skills
Handle multiple tasks and make decisions while working under pressure
Ability to supervise and motivate others
Proficient with personal computer and software applications
Ability to train field engineers in HFC network digital impairment characteristics, FEC, MER, CPD, and other mechanical and electrical impairments and corrections
Advanced knowledge of Spectrum / telecommunications products and services
Advanced knowledge of HFC, Advanced Video, and IP Networks
Demonstrated understanding of preventive maintenance principles and balance between preventive and demand maintenance activities
Demonstrated working experience in developing, reporting, and managing to agreed upon operational metrics
High level working knowledge of network monitoring tools (primarily Lighthouse)
Understanding of DOCSIS principles, modem and set top box topology in accessing and utilizing telemetry data for monitoring and troubleshooting purposes
Engineering level expertise in cable HFC optical nodes, including optimization and certification, configuration, forward and reverse sweeping theoretical and practical activities
Expertise in plant mechanical and electrical integrity in terms of signal leakage and CLI
