Ready to take your accounting expertise to the next level? At Spectrum, you’ll be responsible for preparing, analyzing and interpreting the general ledger and financial statements for our cable systems’ operating results. Your meticulous attention to detail and proactive approach will drive accurate financial reporting and strengthen our commitment to operational excellence.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Prepare and analyze month-end journal entries including accounts receivable and bank reconciliations, operating accruals and miscellaneous revenue
Review assigned ledgers to assess variances in trends and budget, then present financial statements to the accounting manager
Provide insights on ledger variances by communicating with field personnel, completing monthly variance reports and supporting audit processes
Review, comment and provide feedback on balance sheets prepared by other accountants
Affirm revenue validations and conduct thorough revenue analysis
Complete filings for assigned areas including copyright filings and business licenses while updating schedules to maintain the balance sheet
Ensure compliance with SOX controls, provide training for new staff as needed and participate in special projects at the enterprise or local level

What You’ll Bring to Spectrum
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
Experience
4+ years of general ledger accounting work experience
Skills
Ability to read, write and speak English clearly and professionally
Strong communication skills with employees, customers and suppliers in person, by phone or in written form
Proficiency with personal computers and software applications such as word processing and spreadsheets
Ability to work independently
Familiarity with office equipment including computers, telephones, copiers, fax machines, calculators and staplers
Knowledge of cable television products and services
