Director, Construction Field Operations - Corporate Field Operations
As a Director of Construction, you will ensure corporate and Platform of Choice (POC) standards are adhered to making sure plant performance and efficiencies are optimized in the new build areas. Review cost calculators, system design POC, construction specifications and standards to ensure compliance with the engineering standards, design and permits. Report and advise on quality assurance metrics for the new build and proposing proactive solutions and corrective measures.
Work closely with Field Operations regional leadership to ensure communication of actions required to meet the corporate standards and plans, confirm operations are not compromised and make certain that there are consistent standards throughout the regions.
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Recruits, coaches and develops the construction compliance team.
Determines strategy, planning and execution of projects and initiatives within the construction compliance functional area.
Manages day-to-day construction compliance operations with up to 20 employees
Achieves excellent relationships with internal customers including Engineering, Technical Operations, Sales, Marketing, Government Affairs and Customer Care.
Oversees Compliance trip prep work including Prism Project research, Power App, Smartsheet’s, and Sup Mobile, loading and Trip routing / itinerary
Oversees Compliance trip post documentation, reporting and presentation to the regional leadership
Oversees Construction MOP development, standards, processes & procedures
Supports Construction Contractor SOW review
Hurricane and Special Event Support, reporting processes & procedures development
Manages continuous improvement cycle and acts as a change agent as opportunities to improve departmental performance are identified.
Ensures that all applicable codes, standards, and good construction practices are followed by the Regions.
Develops assignments, timetables and responsibilities for team members for the duration of the Compliance project.
Working with the Charter IT development team to build a Construction Compliance TQA Sup Mobile app and Tech Mobile Production app
Oversight along with Corporate Construction the QA/QC program for Regional Charter construction to implement with the contractors to drive improved plant quality and reduced costs
Establish appropriate organizational structure and goals required to accomplish stated objectives
Determine key effectiveness areas of the job, appropriate standards and processes required to deliver required projects
Build an environment with the Regions to foster and entice high quality construction compliance management
Ensures that Charter Construction processes, procedures and standards are utilized on all types of projects; RDOF, BAU, and Enterprise.
Works to acquire knowledge, studies, and growth in Construction, specifically Charter Construction procedures, NESC, NEC, NCTI and SCTE standards. Acy as SME for such topics.

You will be using your project managing skills in order to recruit and manage construction teams. While you will mostly be working in the office, you will have the opportunity to connect with other workers to ensure the growth and protection of Charter’s expanding network.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Construction experience of eight to ten years, management experience of at least five years, experience with all types of telecommunications construction practices and techniques, including material management.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of OSHA, NESC, FCC and Industry Standard rules, regulations, and specifications, technical knowledge of CATV plant and fiber optic construction, able to handle various tasks simultaneously, organize and schedule work, prioritize commitments, make decisions and work effectively under project deadlines, advanced budgeting and financial management skills and experience, knowledge of MDU/Apartment prewire and post-wire construction specifications and practices
- Abilities: Able to analyze data and develop and present data-driven reports, able to use database management software, able to use strong business planning and forecasting skills
- Skills: Proven leadership and mentoring skills, strong analytical, organization and problem solving skills, strong team and relationship building skills
- Travel: Ability to travel 50% of the time.
