Imagine leading the engineering teams behind the largest digital sales platform at Spectrum, responsible for driving billions in revenue and serving hundreds of thousands of daily visitors. As Senior Director, eCommerce Development, Residential, you will shape the technical direction, architect scalable solutions and foster leadership across teams building acquisition, checkout and post-purchase experiences. Your expertise will directly influence how customers connect with Spectrum’s residential products.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Direct engineering delivery for the residential buyflow, the top sales channel touching all Spectrum internet, TV and voice customers
- Guide multiple product teams to build scalable and modern solutions that adapt to evolving business requirements
- Mentor engineering managers and tech leads to empower autonomous decision-making and strong technical leadership
- Collaborate with Architecture to advance platform modernization, including component libraries, API optimization and modular patterns
- Drive AI adoption, integrating AI-assisted development tools and AI-powered customer experiences such as conversational buyflows
- Solve complex challenges at scale, enhancing performance, release reliability and platform integration across 10+ teams
- Translate technical initiatives into business outcomes, connecting engineering decisions to conversion rates, speed to market and customer satisfaction

What You’ll Bring to Spectrum
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience
Experience
- 12+ years of software engineering experience with increasing leadership responsibility
- 5+ years leading engineering organizations of 30+ engineers across multiple product teams
- 5+ years at Director level or above managing engineering managers or senior tech leads
- 10+ years delivering large-scale consumer-facing web applications with high availability and performance requirements
- 7+ years driving platform modernization and architectural transformation while maintaining delivery velocity
- 7+ years operating in matrixed organizations with cross-functional partners
Skills
- Strong architectural judgment across front-end, back-end and API orchestration
- Deep understanding of modern web architecture including Angular, component-based frameworks, TypeScript, SCSS, RxJS, NgRx
- Experience with Node.js backend orchestration, API management and middleware integration
- Integration with complex backend services such as product catalogs, billing, credit/risk assessment and payment processing
- Platform scalability expertise including modular architecture, micro-frontends and API optimization
- CI/CD pipeline management, release strategies and feature flagging at scale
- Performance engineering including page load, API response and caching
- Observability and monitoring for application health and incident response
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA)
- Familiarity with security practices including WAF, fraud prevention and PCI
- Ability to drive scalable engineering solutions without micromanagement
- Balance platform investment with product delivery
- Translate technical complexity for executive audiences

Education
- Master’s degree
Experience
- Experience in telecom, cable, broadband, wireless or mobile industries
- Experience leading engineering organizations of 50+ engineers across multiple product surfaces
Skills
- Engineering leadership in telecom, cable or large-scale eCommerce with residential products
- High-traffic acquisition funnel experience, conversion optimization and A/B testing
- Understanding of residential telecom domains including serviceability and customer flows
- Proven improvement of engineering velocity using agile metrics
- Design system adoption and component library governance at scale
- SSR experience with Angular and its impact on SEO and performance
- AI/ML integration in eCommerce, including conversational commerce and development tooling
- Scaling engineering organizations through hiring, restructuring and leadership development
- SEO optimization, store locator functionality and marketing page performance in eCommerce
