JOB SUMMARY


The Vice President of Performance Analytics & Competitive Intelligence is responsible for analysis and reporting of product and customer growth performance within the Residential and Small and Medium Business (SMB) segments.  This role will discover and synthesize the intelligence from internal and external sources to assess overlap, market share and product offerings of competitors.  This high-visibility position reports to the Group Vice President of Marketing Insights and has heavy interaction with leaders of the Sales, Marketing and Business Intelligence teams.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Analysis and reporting of penetration and growth rates for video, internet, voice and mobile products, as well as overall customer relationships, on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Analyze product and customer behavior and decomposes business trends by geography, demographics, dwelling type, tenure, tier, bundle, product usage, competitive overlap, etc.
  • Develop and utilize analytical and reporting frameworks to measure product and customer churn as well as survival and retention rates across markets and segments.
  • Track activities and performance related to market programs and special initiatives (e.g., marketing campaigns, special promotions, rate events).
  • Identify overlap of Charter’s footprint by competitors for both the Residential and SMB segments, including competitor’s (including national, regional and local) serviceable area, product availability, internet speeds and technology type; identifies surveillance processes and methodologies for emerging competitors.
  • Track market share for video, internet, voice and mobile products within Charter’s footprint; monitor share-flow for internet and mobile products; track category trends (e.g. video cord-cutting, mobile substitution for voice and data).
  • Identify and validate new sources of data and intelligence for integration to competitive database.
  • Responsible for managing and developing a team of highly skilled professionals.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in an analytics function within the Pay TV, Internet or Mobile categories
  • Proven ability to analyze large, complex data sets, identify trends & patterns and synthesize key findings
  • Strong knowledge of marketing principles, techniques and processes
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and functions across the organization
  • Strong communication skills, including experience presenting complex information in a concise and easy to understand fashion to senior leaders
  • Proven ability to attract, develop and manage staff
  • Ability to manage large, complex projects
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced dynamic environment with limited oversight
  • MS Office skills, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word - with proficiency in Excel; Think Cell and Tableau a plus

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Management, Finance, Statistics or Economics


Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years
Marketing and analytics experience - 15+

Leadership experience - 10+


Preferred Education
MBA or Master’s degree in Marketing, Management, Finance, Statistics or Economics preferred
