What You Can Expect in This Role As a Spectrum News intern, you'll have opportunities to spend the semester learning and working alongside professionals in areas that align with your interests and academic focus.
Internship Responsibilities May Include
Pitch, research, and develop stories.
Assist with live shows, field production, and newsroom operations.
Create content for broadcast, digital, social, and streaming platforms.
Learn professional editing, shooting, and writing.
Work with reporters, producers, editors, and audience engagement teams
Support daily newsroom operations and special projects.
Contribute to multimedia storytelling initiatives.
Gain Exposure to Multiple Tracks, Including
Reporting / MMJ (Multimedia Journalist)
Editorial & Story Development
Digital & Audience Engagement
Required Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled at Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications.
Must be participating in a Newhouse Study Away Program in DC during the internship term.
Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.

The base pay for this position generally is between $18.00 and $21.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
