What you can expect in this role 
As a Spectrum Intern, you’ll be essential to two teams — your respective department and your Intern peer group. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You’ll spend the other 20% on professional development sessions and networking activities, including the Kickoff Conference on May 29, webinars, community service, cross-functional project, and final presentations.

Internship responsibilities may include:

  • We are looking for an SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) who has a passion for designing, developing, and testing in-house provisioning applications which help external teams within Charter. Set up test case automation utilizing in-house Java automation framework. Implement hybrid automation testing framework utilizing Java and Selenium Web-Driver. Test relevant Web Services (SOAP & REST) using SOAPUI and Postman tools.  At the end of the internship, the candidate should be able to write and execute unit test cases to ensure code quality and minimize bugs during System Integration Testing (SIT). Attend test planning and defect and review meetings. Demo user stories for all stakeholders as necessary. Deploy code in different environments.  Write custom JAVA functions for API services and Web UI automation.

Required qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited College or University graduating with a bachelor’s degree between December 2024 - May 2025 
  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
  • Ability to travel locally to Spectrum Intern development events and activities throughout the program
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for Charter Sponsorship

  • Familiarity with one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, SQL
  • Familiarity with development tools, application frameworks, and testing tools
  • Familiarity with diagramming software, such as Visio
  • Familiarity of RPA Automation
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following Operating Systems: Windows Server/Unix/Linux
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following frameworks: SpringBoot Web Development, Flask/Django
  • Highly organized with attention to detail skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt communication style to effectively work with multiple levels within an organization
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills
