TITLE: Principal Engineer I (Multiple Openings)
DUTIES: Implement approved network architecture and design, develop network enhancements, and design corporate standards for Charter’s CBO Service Transition Capacity team. Perform maintenance, plan projects, and troubleshoot break fix issues in support of Charter’s national core IP network. Define standards, develop processes, and workflows for critical networking changes and enhancements. Implement legacy and new network infrastructure builds for enhanced customer experiences. Perform networking planning, configuration, and optimization for projects, systems, and issues of varying complexity to support a large-scale network. Lead project teams to maintain and improve network operations. Integrate communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission, signaling links, and protocols into complete network configurations. Evaluate new products and perform network problem resolution. Develop and document technical standards and implement approved methods of procedure. Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations. Write detailed step-by-step procedures and documentation for Network Deployment, Implementation and Integration. Utilize networking protocols including IPv4 and IPv6, BGP, IS-IS, and OSPF; Python for execution of automation supporting network managements; and video transport networking protocols including PIM, SSM and multicast. Plan and modify network routers and switches including Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, and Arista. Utilize networking for deployment design and implementation including experience in Alethia, MRTG, Netbrain and Cisco WAE.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field. 5 years of experience in: writing detailed step-by-step procedures and documentation for Network Deployment, Implementation and Integration; networking protocols including IPv4 and IPv6, BGP, IS-IS, and OSPF; and utilizing Python for execution of automation supporting network managements. 3 years of experience in video transport networking protocols including PIM, SSM and multicast; planning and modifying network routers and switches including Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, or Arista; and using networking for deployment design and implementation including experience in Alethia, MRTG, Netbrain and Cisco WAE.
Hybrid arrangement available.
SALARY: $161,990 - $196,400 per year
HOURS: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (40+ hours/week)

Salaries depend on geography, experience, and education; negotiations begin at $161,990 per year.

The base pay for this position generally is between $161,990.00 and $196,400.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
