TITLE: Software Engineer VI
DUTIES: Build technology solutions for data integration activities, including projects across Charter’s Biller, Ordering, Provisioning, Field Operations, and Customer Experience organizations. Translate user needs and business requirements into detailed design, solutions, and functional architecture and specifications. Assess opportunities to automate processes and functions. Create data flow diagram, system integration flow, and access policy to integrate various end systems based on the business needs. Implement monitoring and alerting processes for big data platform needs. Troubleshoot platform issues in assigned areas and develop strategic solutions to fix issues permanently. Fix vulnerabilities and assess upgrade and patch needs. Analyze and revise existing system logic difficulties and documentation. Lead platform upgrade initiatives and develop procedures to be applied across all environments from sandbox to production. Provide engineering technical support and guidance to regional personnel. Ensure technical integration, changes, standards, and documentation are met. Explore new upcoming technologies, compare with existing products or services, and develop plans and recommend for future business needs. Review work plans and designs and advise on improvements. Perform AWS administration and database administration. Utilize Hadoop software framework for distributed storage and processing; and Kafka Mirror Maker to set up mirroring data to replicate data from one cluster to another cluster. Perform database administration in Oracle, Microsoft, and SQL server, and NoSQL databases including Cassandra or similar databases. Perform security protocol and user management using Kerberos and AD.
REQUIREMENTS: 5 years of experience in AWS administration and database administration. 4 years of experience in Hadoop software framework for distributed storage and processing. 2 years of experience utilizing Kafka Mirror Maker to set up mirroring data to replicate data from one cluster to another cluster. 1 year of experience in: database administration in at least one of the following: Oracle, Microsoft, or SQL server, and experience in any NoSQL database including Cassandra or a similar database; and security protocol and user management using Kerberos and AD.
Alternatively the business will accept an applicant with: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and the following experience: 3 years of experience in AWS administration and database administration. 2 years of experience: in Hadoop software framework for distributed storage and processing; and utilizing Kafka Mirror Maker to set up mirroring data to replicate data from one cluster to another cluster. 1 year of experience in: database administration in at least one of the following: Oracle, Microsoft, or SQL server, and experience in any NoSQL database including Cassandra or a similar database; and security protocol and user management using Kerberos and AD.
A hybrid (in office and remote work) arrangement is available.
SALARY: $133,973 - $159,400 per year
HOURS: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (40+ hours/week)
