TITLE: Software Engineer VI (multiple openings)
DUTIES: Create software solutions that use prevailing technologies to improve the Charter customers’ Spectrum Mobile experience while adhering to business and technical requirements. Develop, modify, enhance, and implement software systems designed to support Spectrum Mobile operations and business initiatives. Participate in the design of dependent systems, including up/downstream APIs, clients, data stores, and CI/CD Pipelines. Design and implement new functionality that is testable and performant with no oversight or guidance. Determine methods and procedures on new assignments and coordinate activities of other personnel. Understand the applicable technical organization’s vision and goals and apply understanding to assist in the creation of the organization’s roadmap. Analyze and evaluate different products in the market and identify their pros and cons. Develop software to overcome roadblocks and proactively identify roadblocks and determine their impact on the roadmap. Triage escaped defects and lead RCA activities. Resolve system integration issues. Lead triage of critical production issues and manage hotfixes for those defects. Close technical debts and visualize technology roadmaps. Responsible for technical requirements and overall technical design documentation. Cut release branches and provide deployment artifacts to operations. Enforce usage of approved code patterns and best practices across their application domain. Identify performance improvement possibilities with dependent systems. Improve application performance and scalability, resilience, and high availability. Collaborate with other groups in the organization like architecture, testing, operations, DBAs, and data center teams to identify and solve technical problems. Showcase multiple interconnected projects and features to senior technical leadership and the business. Mentor junior Software Engineers. Provide technical guidance to other internal groups and act as a technical SME for the organization. Utilize frameworks such as MVC, Apache Struts, Hibernate, Spring, jQuery, Bootstrap, or AngularJS. Utilize languages such as Java, Postman, SQL, or PL/SQL. Utilize web technologies such as JSP, Java Script, Ajax, XML, HTML, DHTML, SOAP, or RESTful. Utilize databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, AWS, MS Access, My SQL, or IBM DB2. Utilize application servers such as Web Sphere, Web logic, Tomcat, or Jboxx. Monitor alerts, troubleshooting, and production support using Splunk. Build APIs using Postman. Code, test, and debug Javascript.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; 4 years experience: utilizing frameworks such as MVC, Apache Struts, Hibernate, Spring, jQuery, Bootstrap, or AngularJS; utilizing languages such as Java, Postman, SQL, or PL/SQL; utilizing web technologies such as JSP, Java Script, Ajax, XML, HTML, DHTML, SOAP, or RESTful; utilizing databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, AWS, MS Access, My SQL, or IBM DB2; utilizing application servers such as Web Sphere, Web logic, Tomcat, or Jboxx; monitoring alerts, troubleshooting, and production support using Splunk; building APIs using Postman; and coding, testing, and debugging Javascript. *Hybrid (in office and remote) work arrangement available.
SALARY: $118,706 - $159,400 per year
HOURS: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (40+ hours/week)
